FROZEN DOBERMAN will play their 1st show with the original line-up after 15 years at the Monster Session 2 benefit show for the MS foundation @ The Manning Bar, Sydney University on March 13.

The original Frozen Doberman line up of Adam Marsh, Peter ‘Red’ Fortune, Tim West and Shaun Barry will hit the stage for the benefit alongside some of Sydney’s best 90’s bands including; HELLMENN, NUNBAIT, THE HARD-ONS, DAREDEVIL, TWEEZER, THE CELIBATE RIFLES & THE LIME SPIDERS.

Formed in late 1989 Frozen Doberman burst onto the Sydney Metal Scene in the 90’s releasing 2 EP’s and an album, the trash metal quartet played support to some of the world’s biggest metal bands including Sepultura and Motorhead as well as touring Nationally up until the band petered out sometime around 1996/7.

CIRCADIAN PULSE seek vocalist

Written by Jo on January 2, 2010

Melbourne based progressive metal band CIRCADIAN PULSE are seeking expressions of interest from vocalists.

Currently consisting of two guitarists, a bassist, a keyboardist and a drummer, we are currently working on material and are looking for a vocalist to complete the lineup. Whilst we are interested in auditioning a range of vocalists, the fact that we are influenced by bands such as Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Queensryche, Symphony X, Threshold and Kamelot might influence your decision to audition.

If interested in discussing this further, please contact Simon @ http://circadianpulse.com

White Noise Productions proudly presents: Triumph at the Arthouse Hotel

Written by Jo on December 13, 2009

“With a lineup reminiscent of the last overwhelmingly successful event we
have had the good fortune of running at Melbourne’s infamous Arthouse
Hotel, Triumph brings together four of the best rising stars of Australian
Melodic Metal under the one roof for the Melbourne Metal Masses.

Melodic Doom band OKERA are booked to kick off festivities in what is to
be their much anticipated second live appearance, while Melbourne’s
masters of melancholy, RAINSHADOW and forest metallers ARBRYNTH are set to follow pace with their own unique brands of melody laden doom and riffage.

The night will be rounded off by none other than very special guests
BE’LAKOR (hot off the heels of their highly acclaimed second full-length
release, ‘Stone’s Reach’
), a band we have not had the pleasure of hosting
since the inaugural White Noise ‘Hellraiser’ show more than two years ago.

A great location, a killer lineup and the perfect opportunity to welcome
in the New Year in belligerent fashion.. what more needs to be said? This one has Triumph written all over it.”

The Arthouse Hotel
616 Elizabeth St. Melbourne 3000

ART IN EXILE album release

Written by Jo on December 13, 2009

“In November, Adelaide’s ‘Art:In:Exile’ launched their debut CD, entitled ‘Aeon Somnia’. It has been a carefully distilled representation of this dark, progressive and aggressive band’s most recent focus in their craft. Ten tracks spanning such genres as melodic death, industrial, doom, and extreme metal have yielded a challenging yet listenable release, ready for a metal world saturated with uncreative and unadventurous music.

Tortured and cathartic, Mel’s vocals evoke a passionate reflection of a world’s apathy toward itself. Couple this with the wall of sound the band has created over the past  eight years, and what is produced is truly compelling Australian Metal! Produced by Andy Kite at Against the Grain Studios, and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Swallow The Sun, In Flames) at Fascination Street Studios, the quality recording encapsulates the music’s diversity and keeps the listener immersed in this stark worldview, drenched in tension and despair.

Initially slated as an independent release, it will available from the Art:In:Exile MySpace page with payments made via Paypal, and Mail Order. T-shirts are also available online, allowing you to show your support for this local act.

This unique Australian act always delivers a high energy show, that highlights the diversity in it’s music and keeps audiences captured from the first note to the last.”

DECAPITATED with Psycroptic, Misery Index, Origin Tour April 2010

Written by Jo on December 8, 2009

DECAPITATED are back! Bands like Decapitated don’t come along very often, having created a vicious, precise and innovative form of death metal since their inception in 1996. Soundworks Touring are extremely pleased to announce their first shows back, in Australia and New Zealand, to deliver to us all their distinctive brand of technically flawless death metal.

Wacek “Vogg” Kieltyka, guitarist & founding member of the Polish death metal band Decapitated, has issued the following statement:

“It’s time to come back! After a two-year break, Decapitated is coming back with new members. The official new line-up for Decapitated will be announced at the end of December.

“As you all know, the decision to continue the band was really, really hard for me, but everything I do now is to keep Decapitated alive. [Vocalist] Covan’s situation has not improved much and he is still in bed and unable to function on his own. He still fights to recover as we speak and we are all still 100% behind him and hope for the best. It has been the hardest thing for me to move on without [brother & drummer] Vitek by my side, but he would have wanted me to continue with the band.

“Finally, I have found some great musicians who can continue the work of Vitek and Covan. At the beginning of April, Decapitated will start to play our first reunion shows. We will visit the biggest cities in Australia and play some of the biggest summer festivals in Europe. Don’t worry, we won’t forget about the U.K.! After this, the band will concentrate on the making of a new album! I would like to thank all the people who have supported us all this time.”

PSYCROPTIC are technical death metal done the Australian way. Having toured heavily through Europe and the USA over the past 18 months in support of their Nuclear Blast release “Ob(servant)”, Psycroptic perform their first Australian shows in close to a year to remind us all of their clinical, razor sharp delivery of some the most punishing, intricate extreme metal on the planet.

ORIGIN One of the most intense and technical of the contemporary death metal bands, Origin embark on their first pulverising trip to Australia to stake their claim as the leaders of metal’s new wave of extremity and deliver a sonic barrage of inhuman proportions. Prepare your face for battle.

MISERY INDEX sets no limits in their goal of making metal and grind flow together in boundless punishing assaults designed to modernize the classic death and grind metal of the early 90’s. Creating an insane mix of regressive thrashing rhythms, corrupting breakdowns and energetic ferocity Misery Index will make damn sure their first shows in Australia leave a blasting impression.

Written by Jo on October 25, 2009

“Set for the Eve of Evil, Inertia Entertainment, Welkin Entertainment, and Kiss or Kill has put together an amazing line up that will chill you to the bone. Best dressed up for the theme “Blood Beach” will receive a double pass to Lamb of God’s tour on Tuesday December 15th, thanks to Soundwave Touring.

Switch at Casey’s Nightclub, have decided to change things up for this particular event by moving Switch’s Halloween party to the Esplanade hotel this year. This will give Switchers a chance to experience a different venue putting its spin on a massive event that concentrates focus on Australian local bands. Switch’s Zombie party in 2007 brought over 800 partiers through the door, this year Switch is looking to smash that record.”
